112 km / 70 miles / 2 hours and 15 minutes drive from airport of Quito to Mindo. Late by 4:30 pm sometimes there is fog on the road and if is rainy season it might be also wet. If driving late afternoon/night be carefull the road is curvy and narrow. After leaving Quito city and after passing the Equator line (19 km from Quito) comes up hill, once reaching its top, the rest of it is just down hill for near 85 km / 53 miles till Mindo. If it does sound a bit new for it, then I advise to hire a 4FWD for better grip, big and safe car with an experienced driver. Safety first !
